Are you spending your Bitcoin?
« on: August 10, 2014, 11:32:03 AM »
I just read this:
http://www.finance-guy.net/finblog/how-will-you-spend-your-bitcoin/10/8/2014

Makes an interesting point.  If we buy stuff with BTC and the company just sells it for cash right away, it's probably not good for the BTC price.

What do you think?  Will shopping with BTC be good or bad for BTC?

I have spent every Satoshi.

Long term the price of BTC should go up (when the block reward halves every 4 years), but I am not that patient :)

Shopping with BTC is not a bad idea.

I agree. While I save a little bitcoin, I also like to spend a little bitcoin. The general public needs to see it being spent in real transactions. That keeps it from being perceived as just another fad bubble / faux investment opportunity. Makes it a real currency.

Just my two cents worth.

Christopher

I think it's more than just spending it, we have to show why it's better to use Bitcoin rather than cash.  everyday people need to see the benefits

Making BTC or other cryptocurrency as an alternative payment for shopping is a good idea. Although, there are still a lot of countries out there that isn't knowledgeable enough about cryptocurrency. But overall, it's a good way to change your shopping experience..

Creio que seja bom pois quanto mais estabelecimentos e sites aceitarem Bitcoin como forma de pagamento, proporcionara um maior crescimento da moeda.

Hey Guys! Ive ran into a lot of people recently, on this forum or others, who just seem to be struggling to find legitimate places to spend their bitcoins. And for good reason. However, my company, Gray and Sons, recently started accepting bitcoin as a method of payment and we're really excited about it. We are offering a wide range of our products, Jewelry: Rings, Watches, Diamond Studs, Necklaces, and more on bit premier.com So far, we have two happy customers. One through bitpremier, and another that we met through bitcointalk.org Anyway, let me know if there are any products you'd like us to post to bitpremier! All of our inventory is on our website grandsons.com  We are a real company in business for 35 years with 20 real employees and a real showroom in Miami Beach Florida with 6 real watchmakers and jewelers with over 150 years of combined experience. Email us! or call+1 (305) 865-0999. (For some reason i can't post my email. Im not so good with these forums! Still learning!!)

I mostly use them to buy gift-cards and use the gift-cards for amazon or ebay stuff. Also, i top up my phone with them. Since recently lots of stores in my country have implemented btc as a payment option so i`m going to use them quite often here.

Funny that i was eager to get to spend btc in an actual real life situation, went to this bar that`s suppose to have btc payment but their system didn`t work.

Hi! when the price of Bitcoin changes so fast, the best option will be to save some part, and to spend or reinvest another part.

Trying to find ways to earn some while also buying some as I can, liking the idea of using those bitcoin debit cards, would make spending them a whole lot easier.
