Hello everyone!

I'm new to bitcoin and still researching how to build a mining rig. Kindly suggest a cost effective and energy efficient mining rig. I intend to build one once I have the means and knowledge to do so. Also, I'm not sure if all components will be compatible with each other. Thank you so much in advance!

I read from an article saying that mining cryptocoins like bitcoin using a laptop won't help me at all. I'm using an old Nvidia 9200M GS graphics, from what I have read Nvidia graphics are not efficient in mining bitcoins unlike AMD graphics.

Do you think I can use my laptop to mine Litecoins? Here are the specs of my laptop:

Model: HP DV4 1234-tx
Windows 7 32-bit SP1
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8600
4G RAM
500GB

If my specs won't work please suggest what I need to do to mine at least Litecoins. Thanks so much my friend for commenting on this post.  ;)

Yes you may mine but you have to join a pool.  You can make around 0.2 LTC(maximum).  It can be anything between 0.1-0.2.  That depends. Just give it a try.

Wow so it means my old laptop and GPU can generate some Litecoin. Do I still have to install some applications like those of Bitcoin before I can mine Litecoins?
