Dont worry about a % of hardware error, those are just rejected shares. it is normal, and the more power your unit has the more shares that will be rejected at times, unless you are seeing like 50% i would not worry.

Welcome to the forum by the way.

It depends on how much you have to invest. Ideally you want to spend less than $5.00 per GH/s, so with that a good starting point is either an Antminer S1 or one of those 220 GH/s units coming out of hong kong these days.

If you have a very limited budget, BUY BITCOIN NOT MINERS. $55 for a 1.6 GH/s usb miner is insane it will die before it ever makes you any bitcoin, and the electricity will make it not a good investment. even the $1000 they are asking for the 40 GH/s miners is a poor investment these days.

Truth is, unless you have about 2k to invest you cant afford the effective hardware and your best just to buy bitcoin and sit on it to watch it increase in value.
