As per news article quoted below there is a meeting in May

the answer to who are they, what is the agenda is comprehensively explained here

and I recommend anyone interested in BTC read it

"The most important part for Bitcoin to grow is for merchants to accept Bitcoins, because as more major merchants accept Bitcoin the more interest people have to buy, because they actually use those Bitcoins at merchants," says Mr Karpeles.
To help that happen Bitcoin's early adopters will meet for a conference next month in California to map out the currency's future.

Again, bitcoin’s future is still unknown. It's still on its infancy and has a long road to take. In my two cents, whether it will pop out or bubble, the next 10 years will be an interesting ride.

Private crypto-currencies are lethal to the banking oligarchs who run the nations.

This is why the U.S. military is gearing up to fight them.
