What are your favourite books related to trading?
« on: June 14, 2021, 09:54:25 AM »
Although a lot of different sources are available for learning online such as YouTube videos and online courses, I still like reading books when I want to learn new things. So far I have read (or in some cases listened to) the following books:

1. Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom by Van K. Tharp - useful for learning about trading psychology and different strategies

2. One Good Trade by Mike Bellafiore - a good guide on how to build your trading plan and stick to it
3. Trading in the Zone by Mike Douglas - mostly trading psychology, useful if you already have an idea about the technical side of trading and you want to improve further

These are all very popular, I have found them through many people recommending them online. The next on my list is The Richest Man in Babylon - it's not specifically about trading but I heard good things about it. I found all three I have read to be useful.

What are some books you have read? Would you recommend them?

I don't like to read books, but I have learned a lot through the sites like BabyPips and Forex Peace Army. Later I realize that the true way to learn Forex, would be by stepping into real market.

Books are great, but there are also great tutorials on YouTube if you are trying to cover any topic quicker than you could read it in a book... the flip side is that YouTube videos are for the most part tailored towards beginners and if you are looking for advanced learning on a topic, then a book on the subject is probably actually your best bet.

Online courses are great to learn from, too, I have used BabyPips also. Of course, practicing is important as well - I think it's best to go through the theoretical part first, then try to put it into practice as soon as possible.

There are some books that are suitable for beginners as well, but I agree that YouTube videos might be a little more time efficient than reading books. But I find it easier to learn from written materials.
