I think seeking redress for this from a government gives that government increasing decision-making power over the Bitcoin realm.

I also think that any judgment handed down by a judge would probably involve reimbursing BFL customers in accordance with the fiat value of BTC at the time of purchase, not at present values. And most likely in fiat. I could be wrong, of course.

But it seems that going to the government to solve the problem is, indirectly, saying: "We can't manage our own affairs without your guiding hand."

It's sad news, to be sure. Bitmit wasn't pretty, but it worked.

Block Erupters are already past obsolete. Trying to build them from scratch would be more expensive than buying them, and even then you'd be throwing your money away.

Funny ... Blockchain.info is based out of Hong Kong. Bestbitcoinwallet.info is registered to a hidden proxy address service in Washington State, USA.

Blockchain.info uses CloudFlare for DNS. Bestbitcoinwallet.info uses WEBS.COM, a freebie hosting service.

Using blockchain.info is not always necessarily going to give you an accurate total of your funds in a hot wallet.

I doubt that they've stolen anything from you.

Have you checked to make sure that you're connecting to the right pool and that you're configured correctly? What mining program are you using? Are you showing that your work is being accepted?

Don't forget that work has to be confirmed before funds can be rewarded. I've never mined on BTCGuild, so I don't know, but they're well established. If they were inclined to steal, it wouldn't be the results of 18 hours of mining at 9.7gigahashes.

I'd do a system rollback (if you're on Windows).

Did you try drying out your USB and plugging it in?

If you know your public address(es), you should be able to look them up on blockchain.info to check balances.
