Bitcoin mining involves using powerful computers to solve complex mathematical puzzles, verifying transactions and adding them to the blockchain. Miners compete to find the correct solution, and the first one to do so gets rewarded with newly created bitcoins. This process ensures network security and validates transactions. Mining is resource-intensive and relies on specialized hardware and electricity.

The other miners then check whether the sender of the funds has the right to spend the money, and whether the solution to the puzzle is correct.

This Investopedia article provides a good introductory overview of the Bitcoin mining process. It explains pretty well how miners use specialized hardware to verify transactions and add new blocks to the blockchain, competing to solve cryptographic puzzles in order to earn bitcoin rewards. As a newbie, I found this quite useful, thanks.

Does anyone have any knowledge about Bitcoin cloud mining? I've noticed that this concept has been gaining popularity compared to traditional hardware-based mining lately.
