Does computer have to be never used online for cold storage
« on: August 22, 2017, 08:58:55 AM »
I have a need to store bitcoins for a short period of time until my ledger nano s finally arrives.  I'd like to put it into cold storage in a laptop that's not connected to the internet.  I know that most good advice says that the computer you use for cold storage has to have never been online.  But this computer will be disconnected to the internet before the wallet is installed and then will not be connected to the internet until all funds are securely placed in my hardware wallet.  In fact, while it is in a safe storage place while I'm waiting, I will not even need to transact at all.

In this particular case, is there still a risk if my computer has been connected to the internet before? ???
